The Salzburg Mozart festival was filmed and should be available soon
as a massive DVD box set. Anyone know the price? It must be at least
several hundred dollars.

La Clemenza di Tito was a major Mozart opera, I wonder why it would
not be included.

Still the girls in Don Giovanni look pretty interesting. This may be
the first" R" rated opera on DVD.

The box set is available on Amazon.de. It consists of 33 DVDs and
costs 300 euros (about 200 or $400, so works out at about 10 an
opera, which is pretty good value. I think it will become available in
the UK and the US in the new year.

The box set does includes La Clemenza di Tito, but as this one opera is
a TDK release it is not otherwise advertised by the Universal Group
(DG, Decca etc).

DG have a micro-site
http://www.deutschegrammophon.com/webseries/?ID=mozart22

which despite what it says on the tine doesn't have a 'buy' button.

There are 19 DVDs. Eight or so are listed on Amazon.co.uk and MDT for
20 - 25 each, which seems to me to be 400-500, or about 800USD. I
expect that cheaper sources exist.

If released as a box set, I imagine there will be a hefty discount, but
whilst 20% is probably hefty, I don't suppose you'd get any change out
of $500. I notice Amazon UK claim to have at least some of them
available for rental
